"The Torkelsons"/"Almost Home"
Did anyone love the Torkelsons as much as I did? I lived for the Disney reruns when they showed them years ago. They also had a spinoff type show called Almost Home. Here's what's everyone is up to now...

Ah, the glory days of the Disney channel. I only watched a few episodes of The Torkelsons. It was always one of those after school shows.

I loved this show! Though I never did figure out why 2 kids disappeared between the original series and the spin-off, never to be mentioned again.

Oh god, oh goodness, Dorothy Jane!!!! I LOOOVVVEEDDDD HERRRR!!!!! I loved Connie Ray, too! She was fabulous. Oh man, I just loved the whole Torkelson family. I completely forgot how much I adored this show. Thank you so much for doing this post!!! Esp. for Dorothy Jane. It fully warms my heart how beautiful a woman she turned out to be, god I loved her so.

Remember when she went to the dance & bought a dress from goodwill and it turned out it used to belong to some snooty rich girl and she was a total ass about it, but Dorothy Jane's date/crush/some boy said she looked lovely?

And how she would sit at her window sill, all dreamy and melancholy, and talk to the man in the moon????

GOD! Dorothy Jane! She dreamed about going to Paris like I did! And I live here now! In my mind, she's here, too. I am being such a weirdo, but my head is in a funny place, and it just makes me so happy to be reminded of the romantic little girl I used to be. Oh, nostalgia. thank you!!

I still remember the episode when Dorothy Jane and Molly have to shack up together, and Molly has to sleep on a cot, so she always whines about "I'm not going to bed, I'm going to COT!"

Wasn't Almost Home on Saturdays or something? Probably why it got cancelled so quickly.

I found a picture of Anna Slotky. It seems shes a law student at UC Davis. The picture is on the second page of this PDF file.. she looks relatively the same.

I loved this show.
I always wondered why the mom moved to the new house without 2 of her kids. LOL!

poor lee norris got stuck with such terrible character names.

and that aaron guy is clearly recognizable for his famed role on the babysitter's club as the dork.

I never thought boys were icky... my first crush was an anchorman on my hometown news when I was like 4, and it just continued from there. I guess it does start early.
